About Aurie
Aurie Ceylon is a New York City–based theatre-maker, writer, storyteller, and avid traveler with a sharp wit and an enduring passion for the arts. With a foundation deeply rooted in musical theatre, Aurie has built a multifaceted career both on and off the stage, dedicated to crafting dynamic stories and inspiring the next generation of performers.
A lifelong “theatre kid,” Aurie is currently serving as Director and Choreographer for bergenPAC Performing Arts School’s spring 2026 productions of Matilda Jr. and RENT. Recent credits include the winter 2025 production Frozen Jr. and spring 2025 production of Aladdin Jr. As a performer, notable credits include American Idiot (1st international), HAIR (Canada/US), The Lightning Thief (US), and Girls Night (Las Vegas, Smith Center). Aurie's work in both performance and education reflects a deep commitment to nurturing emerging talent and celebrating the transformative power of theatre.
In addition to a vibrant career in the performing arts, Aurie is an accomplished writer with experience in TV/Film, travel, and cultural commentary. Her work has appeared in publications such as Go World Travel, Happy to Wander, and UK Christmas Jumper Shop. She is currently developing an original musical adaptation of a beloved novel and is the creator of SPINSTERS, a TV pilot officially selected for Catalyst Institute’s 2024 Duluth Film Festival.
Whether directing a production, crafting a screenplay, or chronicling a global adventure, Aurie brings creativity, curiosity, and quirky humor to every endeavor. She is always in pursuit of the next story to tell... and the next stage to tell it on.
